KathaVani ("KathaVani," "we," "us," or "our") is a digital storytelling platform that lets you discover, create, listen to, and interact with stories using technology that may include artificial intelligence ("AI"), text-to-speech, voice processing, voice cloning, and personalization. Depending on your subscription and available features, KathaVani may let you: • Listen to curated and AI-assisted stories • Generate or personalize stories • Create or use authorized voice profiles • Provide voice recordings for voice-related features • Replay stories and audio content • Manage family members under eligible plans • Access multilingual or regional storytelling content Features may vary by subscription plan, device, and availability.
You must meet the minimum legal age required to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to create an account independently. Where a user is under that age, the account must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. By using KathaVani you represent that the information you provide is accurate, you have authority to agree to these Terms, and you will comply with applicable laws. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a minor's use of KathaVani and deciding whether particular features are appropriate.
You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, keep your PIN and login confidential, and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account. You must not create an account using someone else's identity, share credentials to evade subscription limits, create multiple accounts to evade limits or charges, or attempt to access another user's account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
KathaVani currently offers the following plans. The exact features, limits, and pricing shown in the app at the time of purchase control over the summary below. • Free — ₹0. 1 voice clone, 1 member, 3 stories/month, up to 3 min per story, unlimited replay. • Plus — ₹399/month. 3 voice clones, 1 member, 20 stories/month, up to 4 min per story, unlimited replay. • Premium — ₹599/month. 3 shared voice clones, 2 members (e.g. a couple), 30 shared stories/month, up to 5 min per story, downloads and the premium story collection included, unlimited replay. • Family — ₹999/month. 6 shared voice clones, up to 4 members, 50 pooled stories/month, up to 5 min per story, downloads and the premium story collection included, unlimited replay. We may change, add, remove, or modify subscription features from time to time, subject to applicable law.
Paid subscriptions are billed for the billing period shown at the time of purchase (currently, one month at a time). Depending on how you purchase, payment may be processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, KathaVani or its payment processor, or another authorized provider. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the fee for that billing period, plus any applicable taxes. Prices may vary by country, currency, platform, taxes, or promotions.
KathaVani subscriptions do NOT renew automatically. Each purchase covers one billing period only. Your paid plan and its benefits stay active until the end of the period you paid for; after that, your account automatically moves to the Free plan unless you manually renew or choose a new plan from Subscription Plan in Settings. Because renewal is manual, you will never be charged again without taking action in the app. It is your responsibility to renew on time if you want uninterrupted access to paid features. Switching to a different plan starts a new billing period at that plan's price and does not carry over unused time from your previous plan.
Because subscriptions do not auto-renew, there is nothing to "cancel" to stop a future charge — simply choose not to renew when your current billing period ends. Payments already made for a billing period are generally non-refundable once the period has started, including if you stop using the app partway through, except where required by applicable consumer protection law or the policy of the app store or payment provider you purchased through. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us promptly with your transaction details from Help & Support in Settings.
KathaVani may occasionally offer free trials, introductory pricing, or other promotions. Unless stated otherwise, a free trial does not automatically convert into a paid subscription — consistent with our manual-renewal model, you choose when to purchase a paid plan. Eligibility may be limited to new users or specific accounts, offers may not be combined, and we may modify or discontinue a promotion at any time, subject to applicable law.
KathaVani lets you create, upload, process, store, and use voice profiles or voice clones for story narration. Voice cloning is a sensitive technology and must only be used with proper authorization. By submitting a voice recording or requesting a voice profile, you represent and warrant that: 1. You have the necessary rights and permissions to provide the recording. 2. You have obtained all required consent from the person whose voice is being processed. 3. You are not impersonating another person without authorization. 4. You will not use KathaVani to deceive, defraud, threaten, harass, or impersonate anyone. 5. You will comply with applicable laws on biometric information, privacy, publicity rights, and voice recordings. You must not upload or clone a person's voice without their knowledge or appropriate authorization. Where a voice belongs to a child or minor, the person submitting it must have the parental or legal authority and consent required by law. We may refuse, restrict, remove, or disable a voice profile if we reasonably believe its use violates these Terms, the law, or another person's rights.
KathaVani does not claim ownership of a person's underlying voice or identity merely because it was processed through the Service. You grant KathaVani the limited rights necessary to process submitted recordings and generate voice-related outputs so we can provide the Service, and you remain responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to provide and use any voice recording you submit. We do not sell, rent, or license your voice recordings or voice clones to anyone. You may not use KathaVani to create a voice representation intended to falsely present a person as speaking, endorsing, authorizing, or communicating something they did not actually say or authorize.
You can delete any saved voice at any time from the Voices tab. Deleting a voice permanently removes the voice model and its underlying recordings from our active systems; stories already narrated with that voice remain in your library unless you delete them separately.
"User Content" means material you submit, upload, record, or create through KathaVani, including voice recordings, text, story ideas, names, images, audio, prompts, and family information. You retain ownership of your User Content to the extent you own rights in it. By submitting User Content, you grant KathaVani a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and otherwise use it solely as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Service. This license ends when your content is deleted, except where retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backups, or enforcing these Terms.
KathaVani may use AI and automated systems to generate stories, narration, dialogue, audio, and recommendations. AI-generated content may sometimes contain errors, inaccuracies, incorrect names or facts, repetitive content, or unintended interpretations, and should not be treated as professional, legal, medical, financial, or educational advice. You are responsible for reviewing content before relying on it or sharing it with others. We do not guarantee that every AI-generated story or narration will be accurate, original, or error-free.
KathaVani may provide curated, licensed, user-created, or AI-generated stories. Availability may vary by subscription plan, geography, licensing restrictions, or technical availability, and we may modify, remove, or replace particular stories when reasonably necessary. Curated stories remain our intellectual property (or that of our licensors) and are for your personal, non-commercial family use — you may not redistribute, publish, or sell them commercially without our written permission.
Where your plan includes downloads, downloaded narrations are for personal, offline listening within your family only. Downloaded files may not be shared publicly, uploaded elsewhere, or used outside the app.
On plans that support more than one member (Premium's 2-member sharing, and the Family plan's up to 4 members), the account owner is responsible for managing the members and authorized users added to the account. These plans must be used only by the intended household members — the account owner must not sell, rent, or commercially distribute access, or add unrelated users to circumvent voice or member limits, and remains responsible for ensuring added members comply with these Terms.
KathaVani may contain content intended for children and families, but is not a substitute for parental supervision. Parents and guardians should review content where appropriate, supervise use of the app, control access to account features, and ensure that voice features are used only with proper authorization and consent. We do not knowingly require children to provide unnecessary personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate.
You agree not to use KathaVani to: violate any law; infringe intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; impersonate another person without authorization; create deceptive or fraudulent communications; harass, threaten, or abuse anyone; facilitate criminal activity; upload malicious software; compromise or reverse engineer the Service; circumvent subscription or usage limits; scrape or systematically extract content without authorization; sell or redistribute KathaVani content without permission; create unauthorized voice clones; or use generated voices for fraud, scams, or deceptive impersonation. We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations.
KathaVani and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the KathaVani name, branding, logos, software, applications, website, interface, designs, original platform content, and proprietary technology. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, distribute, modify, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from KathaVani's proprietary materials. Third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.
To the extent permitted by law, KathaVani does not claim ownership of content generated specifically for you through your authorized use of the Service. However, AI-generated output may not always qualify for copyright protection, and similar output may be generated for other users. You are responsible for determining whether you have sufficient rights to use, publish, distribute, or commercially exploit any generated output, and must not represent AI-generated content as human-created where that would violate the law or a contractual obligation.
KathaVani may integrate with third-party services, including payment providers, app stores, cloud infrastructure, AI technology providers, speech and audio processing providers, analytics, authentication, and content delivery services. These services have their own terms and privacy policies, and KathaVani is not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.
Your use of KathaVani is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and process personal and voice-related information. Please review the Privacy Policy before using KathaVani.
Depending on the features you use, KathaVani may store information necessary to provide the Service, including account information, preferences, generated stories, audio files, voice profiles, and related metadata. We may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain backups, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods and deletion rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information handled through KathaVani. However, no internet transmission, cloud service, or electronic communication can be guaranteed completely secure, and use of the Service involves certain inherent security risks.
We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device. The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, infrastructure failures, internet outages, third-party interruptions, security incidents, or events beyond our reasonable control.
We may modify, improve, add, or remove features from KathaVani, and may change subscription plans, usage limits, pricing, or supported devices. Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes. Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of that change, to the extent permitted by law.
We may suspend or terminate your access to KathaVani if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, misuse voice-cloning features, infringe another person's rights, attempt to circumvent security or subscription limits, or as required by law. You may stop using KathaVani at any time. Upon termination, your access to paid features may end, subject to the refund policy in Section 7.
When you delete your account, we may delete or de-identify associated information according to our Privacy Policy. Some information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, accounting, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through an app store — manage that separately through the applicable platform if needed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KathaVani is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding availability, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or the suitability or accuracy of AI-generated stories or voices. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KathaVani and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill, or reliance on AI-generated content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to KathaVani for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or US $100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KathaVani and its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors from claims, liabilities, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your User Content, your unauthorized use of another person's voice, your infringement of intellectual property or privacy rights, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of applicable law.
If you believe content available through KathaVani infringes your copyright, contact us with sufficient information to identify the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized. We may remove or restrict access to content where appropriate.
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about KathaVani, you grant us permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing, to improve, develop, or promote the Service.
KathaVani may be operated or accessed from multiple countries, and certain features may not be available everywhere. You are responsible for complying with the laws applicable to you when accessing the Service. We do not guarantee that KathaVani or any particular feature is legally or commercially available in every jurisdiction, and you agree not to use KathaVani in violation of applicable export-control, sanctions, or trade laws.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise. Before starting formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact KathaVani and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If it cannot be resolved informally, it may be resolved through the courts having jurisdiction under the governing law. Nothing here prevents you from exercising mandatory consumer or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app, our website, email, or other reasonable means. The updated Terms become effective on the date stated in them, and your continued use of KathaVani after that date constitutes acceptance, to the extent permitted by law.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any feature-specific terms, form the entire agreement between you and KathaVani. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet or cloud-service outages, or public-health emergencies.

By creating an account or using KathaVani, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms, you have the necessary rights and permissions for the content and voices you submit, you understand KathaVani may use AI to generate stories and audio that can contain errors, and you understand that voice-cloning features must only be used with proper authorization and consent.
